Micro Update: Bobby Kotick is Missing Two Stooges

At the current rate, if Bobby Kotick keeps talking in public, he may actually eclipse Sony for some of the worst and most uninformed statements said to the public about gaming. If you've ever followed the game industry in the last few years, you've probably heard of Bobby Kotick, either talking about stuff he doesn't understand or going on about (more unfortunately) the one thing he does understand: Money.

Like most non-gaming CEO's, Bobby Kotick is the purest example of what we don't want in the gaming industry. Obsessed with money above all else, caring none for his customers or his employees, Kotick has single-handedly done large amounts of damage to the games industry. Those $15 map packs I was speaking about yesterday. He's the one who did that. Even worse, Kotick staight up admits that he doesn't really understand anything about the gaming industry and doesn't care. In fact, in his latest escapade from yesterday, Kotick wants to change the face of gaming. Did I say change? I meant lock down tighter then ever.

Kotick went on record whining about Microsoft's X-box live service, claiming that "...60 per cent of [Microsoft’s] subscribers are principally on Live because of Call Of Duty..." to which I say: BULL. CRAP. Thankfully, that number is no where near true, but Kotick was using it to say that Activision should be making money off of X-box Live as well as Microsoft, and that he's no longer a fan of Live since it restricts Activisions plans for their next Call of Duty game, which they are trying to make entirely subscription based. Kotick then went on to voice support for home computer companies such as HP to make gamer friendly PC's that plug into TVs so that Activision can build their own network.

You can read other news about this at GamePolitics and 1Up.com.

There is just so much wrong with this I could go on all day, but I won't, instead I'll just say once again that we as gamers need to do something about this guy. He is a picture perfect portrait of everything that is wrong that we don't want in the gaming industry. We can all laugh at him, but at the end of the day we need to let it be known that we don't want people like Kotick playing in our sandbox.

Oh, Bobby.... How I would love to throw you into a pit of angry mice.

60%? Wow. Nice figure. Wonder what that 60% was doing before CoD4's release. Oh, I know! Playing other games, like they still are now. Seriously, how's he reckon that the majority of XBL players are only online for one game?

And subscription-based Call of Duty? No. Just no. No Call of Duty game could provide the kind of content that would warrant a subscription.

Sad thing is, people will buy a subscription-based CoD game. It's a real shame.

This man must be stopped.
